Reading the Women Angel Investors 2025 report from the Invest in Women Taskforce, UK Business Angels Association and Beauhurst was one of those moments that really resonated with me, the data crystallises just how much opportunity we’re leaving on the table by not unlocking more women into angel investing.

When more women invest, they expand the pool of capital, diversify decision-making, and help more businesses scale and succeed. Since 2022, the number of women angel investors in the UK has grown by 60% and this growth is being seen significantly across the regions too.  Collectively, women angels have backed 6,500 high-growth companies, including 2,000+ female-founded businesses, shifting capital where it matters.

But there’s still more to do…What is the single most effective, practical change to increase female angel investment in the UK?

For me, it comes down to demystification and structured entry pathways. Although numbers have grown, women still make up only 14% of the UK angel investor community signalling that the barrier isn’t interest it’s perceived complexity we need:

– targeted, practical education on angel investing (including SEIS/EIS)
– beginner-friendly and entry-level frameworks & syndicates
– access to curated deal flow and supportive communities

And for those considering angel investing what would make it more accessible for you? From my own journey and countless conversations, what resonates most is:

– Transparent, bite-sized education, clear, no-nonsense guidance on investing
– Low-friction entry options, smaller ticket sizes, pooled networks, first-time programs
– Visible role models and pathways, seeing others succeed expands what’s possible

The progress we’re seeing is real, but it’s just the beginning. Women are driving capital into game-changing companies, creating more inclusive funding pathways, and building an ecosystem that looks, feels and performs better for everyone.

At Lifted Ventures, we’re not just observers we’re often the first movers in capital rounds, helping drive co-investment that de-risks businesses. Our 2025–2027 manifesto sets ambitious goals: activating 75 new women angel investors. Because unlocking more women into angel investing isn’t just an aspiration it’s a roadmap to systemic change.

That’s why the Lifted Ventures Women Angels Conference isn’t just an event it’s a catalyst for action. From practical learning to powerful connections, it gives both seasoned angels and curious newcomers the confidence, tools and community they need to step into the market.

Events like this where curiosity becomes conviction and capital are central to driving the next wave of women investors.

🎉 I’m so excited to welcome everyone tomorrow to our SOLD OUT event.
