Growth and Investment Programme for North East Businesses

Applications are now open...

Lifted Ventures is delighted to be partnering with the National Innovation Centre for Ageing (NICA) through the Internet of Caring Things® (IoCT™)  to deliver a Growth and Investment Programme designed to help innovative North East businesses scale, strengthen investment readiness and unlock future growth opportunities.

The programme is open to businesses that have previously engaged with or been supported by the National Innovation Centre for Ageing through the Internet of Caring Things® initiatives, building on the strong innovation ecosystem already developing across the region.

As part of the programme, up to 50 businesses will have the opportunity to participate in a series of Business Model Evolution (BME) Workshops designed to help founders and leadership teams critically assess and strengthen their growth strategy, commercial positioning and funding readiness.

Through this series of BME workshops, participating businesses will gain:

  • Evaluate and refine their business model and commercial strategy
  • Identify scalable growth opportunities and routes to market
  • Better understand customer value propositions and market positioning
  • Stress-test revenue models and long-term sustainability
  • Build confidence in communicating their business proposition

Following the workshop phase, 10 high-potential businesses will be selected for an intensive Growth and Investment Programme delivered by Lifted Ventures.  This next-stage programme will provide tailored support focused on:

  • Investment readiness and fundraising strategy
  • Explore funding pathways and investment opportunities
  • Financial and growth planning
  • Understand what investors and stakeholders are looking for
  • Pitch development and storytelling
  • Understanding investor expectations and due diligence
  • Access to mentors, investors and ecosystem experts
  • Building long-term scaling and partnership opportunities

The programme will culminate in a unique opportunity for the final cohort of businesses to pitch directly to investors, stakeholders and ecosystem leaders as part of the National Innovation Centre for Ageing’s IoCT™ final celebration event.

The programme aims to strengthen the pipeline of innovative, investment-ready businesses emerging from the North East’s ageing and health innovation ecosystem, while connecting founders with the networks, knowledge and capital needed to scale.
